mixer magic

If you're not a big "kitchen person," you may not have heard of the Vita-Mix Professional Series Blender; but if you watch food tv, you've seen one. Alton Brown uses his black Vita-Mix on almost every episode of Good Eats, and they are the only blenders Gordon Ramsey will allow in Hell's Kitchen. Those in the know have long considered it the leader in quality, durability, and dependability; and The Afternoon is thrilled to be carrying the Professional Series for the first time!
But don't be intimidated by the super-star endorsements. The Vita-Mix is perfect for the home cook as well--even the most cooking-inept staffers here at The Afternoon are buzzing after we had our in-store demo! We're all enticed by the possibilities of silky sauces, fabulous frappes, and ridiculously easy home-made peanut butter. Our staffer Ashley is excited to make those spinach smoothies that are so popular these days with health-nuts but so tough on regular blenders. The Vita-Mix's motor and stainless steel blade are powerful enough to pulverize raw food and chop ice with ease (can you say MARGARITAS?!)
Now me, I see this blender and one word comes to mind: SOUP. I love hot soup when the weather gets cool, but I have very little time and even less desire to clean up after myself when I do manage to cook something...and this is where the Vita-Mix really sets itself apart from the cruddy blender you got for your college dorm room a million years ago. Throw some fresh vegetables and broth into the well, blend on high for five minutes, and not only does it blend the soup, it heats it. Reread that sentence. The motor is so powerful you can make hot soup using fresh vegetables without even turning on the stove, in the time it takes to heat the condensed crud from a can.
To clean up, just put a little water and a drop of soap into the container, blend and rinse, and you are done!
This isn't an appliance...it's a magician. And if you could use a little more magic in your kitchen, you should come check them out!
