valentine gift guide: for a dude
Your Valentine is: A guy. A Man. A Dude. He does so many things for you, but giving you a wish list isn't one of them. You are: Confused. Valentine's Day is such a girly holiday--what would a guy even want?
I'm sorry to say that while the answer for lady presents is pretty simple (JEWELRY) the men are not so easy. Most men don't really want big declarations of affection, but you still want to show them that they are loved and appreciated...what to do? We have a few ideas.
THE SURE BET. If your boyfriend/husband/fiance/best guy friend is particularly difficult, or you're not quite sure of their tastes, here are a few options that nine out of ten guys out there will appreciate:
The XL Beer Glass holds up to five bottles of beer. It works for old married couples (you know he loves beer better than anybody) and new romances (it's not going to scare him with sentimentality or lovey-dovey-ness) Give him this and a six pack and he'll think it's the most romantic thing he's ever seen.
(If he's more of a wine drinker, there is a giant wine glass option as well.)
Great Mustaches Mug. Most guys I know are either endlessly amused by or forever trying to curate a righteous mustache of their own, and they would love this mug. Also, giving him a gift with a little humor thrown in takes some of the pressure off of him to make February 14th "The Most Romantic Day EVER!" and he'll appreciate that so, so much.
Probably Going to Love It. If you're a little bit of a risk taker, or you think you know your guy pretty well, here are some options that wouldn't work for everyone, but work sooooo well for those they do!
Black Titanium Card Box. Black. Shiny. Sexy. Made of titanium, one of the strongest metals in the world. This is the ultimate business card holder...if he's the business card type.
Wally Bottle Opener. This one requires a little work. Buy the wallet sized bottle opener, take it to be engraved with something supportive, but not overly sweet. "I'm crazy about you" or "You are really, really awesome" or maybe a private joke you have together. It can be whatever, as long as it makes him smile. Then he can keep it in his wallet to use as a bottle opener, but it also reminds him of you every time he uses it...which is sweet, in a dude kind of way.
Big Risk/Big Payoff. If you know your fella really well, or if you're willing to bet you do, consider something a little more...unusual for him this Valentine's Day. Something completely unexpected.
I think clocks make great guy present any time of year, and I really love this Sunburst Wall Clock for it's masculine, mid-century modern design. If your Valentine loves Mad Men, he can hang this in his office and channel his inner Don Draper.
For a really special present, there is nothing quite like one of our brass and wood kaleidoscopes. A far cry from the dollar-store little kid variety, each kaleidoscope is signed and dated by the artist a unique conversation piece that will delight his inner child.
Still stumped? There's even more options both online and in store, and lots of helpful associates who would love to help! We also carry a number of man-friendly Valentine's Day cards AND we gift wrap, so whoever your valentine...we've got you covered!
