summer jewelry!
The temperature is rising and I'm sure by now you've switched to a full summer wardrobe: shorter sleeves, lighter fabrics, shoes that show off brightly painted toes and let your feet breathe. You also get to wear more fabrics that are "inappropriate" during the colder months, breaking out gingham and seersucker where previously there was houndstooth and tweed. Changing out your wardrobe is one of the best parts of the season changing, but not enough women take the opportunity to change their jewelry out as well!
When the sun gets brighter, so can your colors! Take a chance with colors that are bolder, more intense, in more adventurous combinations. Use bright summer jewelry to bring light to drab outfits and experiment with colors that might be too loud for colder months. Some people avoid bright colors, thinking "They don't look good with my skin tone!"; but jewelry can overcome that! Maybe you're not willing to wear a coral dress, but coral earrings let you incorporate this trendy color on a smaller scale.
Speaking of scale, summer is a great time to scale UP! Big jewelry gives outfits a tropical upgrade in summer, and are just kind of impractical in winter months: giant earrings get caught in scarves and large rings can't fit into gloves. But in the summer nothing stands between you and a huge bangle bracelet or super long necklace! There's also a practical side to summer jewelry: they add interest to an outfit without adding heat. Once the temperature climbs above one hundred degrees you'll be wanting to wear as little clothing as possible, so layers and cute cardigans are definitely OUT. Bold summer jewelry makes a tank top and shorts fashionable and simple sundresses appropriate evening wear.So why not use the rising mercury as an excuse for some new accessories? You'd better hurry, because this season of big, bold, beautiful jewelry won't last forever!
(but don't worry ladies...once it's fall again we can start talking about scarves!)
