new favorites: if you liked PostSecret...

You love shopping at The Afternoon for the holidays, but eventually you run into a problem--you've already given our most popular gifts, and now you are left, once again, with no clue what to get The Person Who Has Everything.  No problem! We've developed a series of gift guides based on our favorite products--so if you got them "the perfect present" last year, you can continue the trend!

PostSecret--a collection of the handmade art and secrets from thousands of strangers around the world, sent in as anonymous postcards to creator Frank Warren--strikes a cord with people of all ages.  Secrets range from the heartbreaking to the hilarious and the art can be beautiful hand-scrawled portraits, collages, or personal photographs augmented with markers.  We carry a number of the PostSecret collections, but if she already has them all and you want something different (or you want a corresponding gift to give along with this best-selling book) here are three products that are sure to please:

1. Language Arts Wall Art: inventive wall décor comprised of photographed letters
that take their form in found art: billboards, store signs, patterns in fences, scraps of metal.
The end result says much more than the mere word can do on its own.

2. Quotable Calendar: Quotables will give the same bold, graphic quotations as a PostSecret
postcard, and are available in cards, magnets, mugs, canvases and journals.
The 2012 calendar features 12 of Quotable’s most popular color images along with clean,
well organized monthly calendars to inspire them throughout the year.

3. Papaya Art:  the beautiful signature artwork by artist Anahata Katkin
features orginal painting, collage, and fine glitter embellishments and has the same organic
energy and deep feeling behind some of PostSecret's most memorable postcards.

Still clueless?  Come in to your nearest Afternoon location and let one of our staff find the perfect compliment to your already perfect gift!
