Here is why my husband will always have the key to my heart.
The other day he came home and declared the following: "I've had it with catch-phrases at work! If one more person says "due diligence" I'm going to lose my mind! I'm making it a personal goal to resurrect some words and phrases that are less grating on the nerves, because I can't be the only person whose eardrums are bleeding from having to hear "outside the box" and "granular" all day long."
"Ooooh, "due diligence" is especially bad," I replied. "...and you're right! We're all pretty limited in our vocabulary these days. Anyway, I totally know what you mean. I hate it when people say "brick and mortar" -ugh!"
After a few moments he said "Madcap. There's a word I never hear, but I'd be really happy if I did!"
"That's why you're the coolest person I know," I said, and handed him a cocktail.
Happy Valentine's day!
