The Day the Mall Stood Still

Meet Atticus Robot, the newest addition to our Mall of America store family. Standing about 38" tall with striking, movable blue eyes (and a remote control), Atticus clearly gave his soul to rock n' roll. We found Atticus at the wonderful craft show in Philadelphia. We had just waded through scores of art glass and jewelry booths when suddenly he appeared, kicking out jams and built to last, in the booth of his creator, artist Toby Atticus Fraley (yep, that's where we got the name - though we considered Plan B, Robby, I. Robot, Ol' Blue Eyes and even Strum Thurmond). Mr. Fraley constructs his robots from "vintage found objects purchased from eBay auctions, yard sales, estate sales and the like." His robots reside in select locales, including the separate private collections of Grammy Award-winning musicians and the headquarters of "one of those really big Silicon Valley tech firms." A couple of the robots have even had their 15 minutes (well, maybe 15 seconds) of fame on HGTV. And now, Atticus is appearing at our store in the Mall of America - standing room only. Catch him while you can!
