Great Gifts for High School Grads: Ladies' Edition

Graduation is right around the corner (ask any high school senior, they'll give you a countdown to the hour) and The Afternoon has long been the destination for graduation gifts. Since there are SO MANY options, let's divide this into boys and girls, just so you don't get overwhelmed with all the great ideas!
For the soon-to-be freshman girl, we have a number of original, unexpected gifts that will ease the transition from home to campus and get her excited about the new adventure that is COLLEGE!
Why give boring school supplies when you can give the gift of pretty? We have gorgeous Glam flash drives in multiple patterns (the rose or butterfly models are particularly popular) and are such an improvement over the clunky black models you get at the campus store. And forget about the depressing manila file folders of the past--we have a selection of playfully patterned folders from Wooster & Prince Papers and Henry Road that will bring a smile to her face even when she's filing away the first draft of a term paper.
For a slightly more sentimental gift, consider giving her a place to capture her thoughts in one of our Papaya or Paperblank journals, or a piece of heirloom jewelry that will warm her heart for years to come. One of our frames can be easily personalized just by adding a picture of a soon to be far-flung BFF or even (sniffle) mom.
Still not sure? Get them a gift card and make a day of browsing through The Afternoon together, picking out a piece of funky art or wall decor for their new dorm. You'll make their home away from home the coolest on the floor, which is one of the best gifts of all!
